The 2021 NBA Draft Lottery took place at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 22nd to decide the front half of the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. The Houston Rockets were awarded the No. 2 pick in the first round of the draft following the lottery draw. The Rockets was tied for the best odds to win the No. 1 overall pick at 14 percent, along with the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons. Here we’re going to take a look at where the Rockets are drafting and who they should look to take.

Who should the Houston Rockets take with the No. 2 pick?

The Rockets unfortunately just missed out on the No. 1 pick and the rights to draft OK State G Cade Cunningham first overall. Fortunately for Houston, there are plenty of great prospects out there. The consensus No. 2 overall prospect is USC big man Evan Mobley, who makes a ton of sense here given the Rockets lack of size and another big behind Christian Wood. A front court featuring Mobley and Wood could be very formidable down the stretch.
