The 2021 NBA Draft Lottery took place at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 22nd to decide the front half of the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. The Charlotte Hornets were awarded the No. 11 pick in the first round of the draft following the lottery draw. The Hornets had the 11th-best odds to win the No. 1 overall pick at 1.7 percent. Here we’re going to take a look at where the Hornets are drafting and who they should look to take.

Who should the Charlotte Hornets take with the No. 11 pick?

Charlotte is loaded with guards now that LaMelo Ball has asserted himself as a vital rotation piece alongside Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham. The Hornets are set at point guard and shooting guard, while Gordon Hayward is holding down small forward. Charlotte has a plethora of undersized forwards, but center has been a concern. PJ Washington, Bismack Biyombo, and Cody Zeller might make up the worst center rotation in the Eastern Conference. Taking a chance on a promising international big like Turkey’s Alperen Sengun could make a lot of sense. The 18-year-old came close to averaging a double-double on 67% shooting last season and has plenty of room to grow.
