The 2021 NBA Draft Lottery took place at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 22nd to decide the front half of the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. The San Antonio Spurs were awarded the No. 12 pick in the first round of the draft following the lottery draw. The Spurs had the 12th-best odds to win the No. 1 overall pick at 1.6 percent. Here we’re going to take a look at where the Spurs are drafting and who they should look to take.

Who should the San Antonio Spurs take with the No. 12 pick?

The Spurs will be in the unpleasant position of taking a draft pick relatively higher than they usually do. San Antonio doesn’t normally take players in the top 15 and usually ends up taking some guy no one has ever heard of and leaving him overseas for a few years. That can’t be the case anymore. The Spurs look around at James Bouknight and Jaden Springer, but ultimately take big man Kai Jones from Texas due to his upside.
