Deandre Ayton. The Phoenix Suns had everything go wrong late in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers. Until Ayton hit a buzzer-beating game-winner with 0.8 seconds left to give the Suns a 104-103 win over the Clippers to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. It was an amazing in-bounds play written up by Suns coach Monty Williams. Take a look at the play.

It took a while at the end of the game for the refs to figure it out, but apparently there was still 0.7 seconds left on the clock after Ayton’s bucket. The Clippers didn’t even get a shot off and the Suns head to LA up 2-0 in the WCF. Devin Booker set a great screen on the final play by Ayton and also hit a huge shot to put the Suns up by 1 late in the fourth quarter. Paul George had a rough ending, missing two crucial free throws that gave the Suns a chance to win the game, which they did.

Ayton finished the game with 24 points and 14 rebounds while Booker had 20 points. The end of the contest kind of ruined what would have been all about Cameron Payne, who led the Sun with 29 points starting in place of Chris Paul, who remained out in health and safety protocols. George led the Clippers in scoring with 26 points, but nobody will remember that at all. It’s all about the two free throws PG-13 missed that ultimately lost the game for LA.
