The Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins will continue their three-game series at 7:10 p.m. ET. Robbie Ray will be on the mound for the Blue Jays, while the Marlins will start Trevor Rogers. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Blue Jays vs. Marlins, 7:10 p.m. ET, ESPN+
Moneyline pick: Marlins +107
The Blue Jays have won three straight games after defeating the Marlins 2-1 on Tuesday in Miami. Toronto’s offense, which has been one of the best in baseball, is averaging 6.3 runs per game in their last three contests. The Marlins have lost two consecutive games, where the offense has been non-existent only scoring one run. This was a far cry from the first two games against the Cubs, where Miami scored 21 runs.
The Marlins will look to get back on track with standout rookie pitcher Trevor Rogers on the mound. Rogers has a 7-3 record and 1.87 ERA in 14 starts this season. The 23-year-old starter is performing well at home with a 1.61 ERA in five starts and is even better at night (1.54 ERA in eight outings). In his last three home starts, the Marlins are 3-0 and averaging 8.6 runs a game.
However, Robbie Ray has been phenomenal as of late for the Jays, despite him giving up 3 HRs in three straight starts. The 29-year-old has struggled this season with keeping the ball inside the park, allowing 17 HRs in 13 starts. Ray, who currently owns a 3.50 ERA, has done a good job of holding his own on the road with a 3.86 ERA. In eight career games against the Marlins, Ray is 3-3 with a 2.20 ERA. Even though the Blue Jays have the better offense and is playing better right now, I think Rogers can hold contain their offense and help the Fish to a much-needed win.
Player Prop: Robbie Ray over 7.5 strikeouts (-113)
Even though I picked the Marlins to win, I still believe there’s some value with Robbie Ray’s strikeout prop. The 29-year-old has gone over 7.5 strikeouts in 7 out of 13 starts this season, which includes 3 out of his last 4 outings. In his first appearance against Miami earlier this month, Ray had 9 strikeouts in 6.0 IP. He’s facing a Marlins team that is struggling to score runs recently and is averaging 9.65 Ks per game this season.
