It is hard to know what Aaron Nola the Phillies will get on the mound this season. Will they get the Nola, who threw 7.2 scoreless innings and struck out 9 batters against the Yankees? Or will get they get the Nola, who showed up in his last start against the Giants, where he only pitched 2.1 and gave up 6 earned runs.

The Phillies hope its the former as they’ve lost three-straight and four out of their last five games. The last time he went up against New York was a doubleheader on April 13, where he allowed 7 hits, 3 earned runs, and put up 7 strikeouts in 5.0 IP. Philly went on to lose 4-0 in seven innings.

That being said, the best bet for this game is the Mets, who have been phenomenal at home this season with a 22-9 record. New York’s success at home is a polar opposite of how the Phillies have played on the road (13-23). Taijuan Walker will get the start for the Mets, who has a 6-3 record and 2.42 ERA in 13 starts. Walker is a perfect 4-0 at home with a 1.49 ERA and .172 opponents batting average. The 28-year-old has also faced the Phillies twice this season with an ERA of 4.35. But in his six home starts in 2021, Mets are undefeated at 6-0.

If the Phillies want to come away with a victory and snap their losing streak, they need a good outing from Aaron Nola. Nola, who has had his struggles this season, has gone over 6.5 strikeouts in 8 out of 15 starts. However in his last five road starts, the Phillies’ ace has only gone his strikeout prop twice.
