How the public is betting Euro 2020 winner heading into knockout round

Euro 2020 officially moves into the knockout stage June 26 when Italy, Wales, Austria and Denmark kick off the Round of 16. Here’s a look at updated Euro title odds and how the public is betting on those odds.

After a strong performance in the group stage, Italy is receiving most of the money in the latest breakdown according to DraftKings Sportsbook. France, which is still the favorite at +420, is getting slightly more bets at 20 percent. Italy’s stock has gone up since the start of the tournament. The Azzurri were +800 to win Euro 2020 at the start of the tournament.

Belgium has seen its chances go down slightly from +750 to +950, likely due to being in the same side of the knockout bracket as Italy and France. Bettors aren’t as phased as oddsmakers with 17 percent of all wagers taking Belgium to win the title. England and Germany round out the top five in terms of handle and number of bets. Both play each other in the Round of 16.

At +900, Netherlands offers great value based on group stage performance and potential path to the final. The Dutch will only have to play one of England/Germany, which would come in the semifinal match. Netherlands would then only face one of Italy/France/Belgium in a hypothetical final. Only five percent of bets and two percent of the money is backing Netherlands at the moment, meaning prospective bettors could still get good odds before the line changes due to additional action.
