Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper had to leave his team’s Saturday game early due to injury. The 28-year-old outfielder was hit by a bouncing pitch from New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom in the bottom of the sixth inning and was unable to continue playing because of a leg injury he sustained.

Harper leads the Phillies in batting average (.275) and OBP (.386). He’s also managed to belt 11 home runs and slugs a team-high .497. He went 0-for-2 at the plat before exiting Saturday’s game.

Philadelphia entered the weekend ranked fourth in the National League East, and a lengthy absence from Harper could damage its chances of getting back in the playoff picture. Travis Jankowski replaced Harper in the lineup on Saturday. Jankowski entered the game with seven hits in 17 at bats this season. Jankowski, Brad Miller and a host of other outfielders could help fill in for Harper in the meantime.
