Update, Game 5 — Hawks C Clint Capela will play in Game 5 vs. the Bucks on Thursday night despite being hit in the eye late in Game 4, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Capela was listed as questionable to play. We’ll see if the facial injury holds back Capela at all. He could end up wearing a face mask.

The Atlanta Hawks were coasting to a big win in Game 4 vs. the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night when they got a bit of bad luck. Center Clint Capela had to go to the locker room late in the fourth quarter after being elbowed in the face. Here’s a look at the elbow Capela appears to take inadvertently from Bucks G Sam Merrill.

It had already been a wild night for Hawks-Bucks. First, Trae Young was ruled out prior to Game 4 due to a foot injury. Then the Hawks led by 13 at halftime despite Young being out. Then the Bucks looked to be going on a run before Giannis Antetokounmpo went down with a hyperextended left knee and didn’t return. THEN, Cap was forced to leave because of this play. Things are all over the place in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.

The Hawks went on to win the game 110-88 and the series is tied 2-2 heading back to Milwaukee for Game 5 on Thursday night. We’ll see if we get an update on Capela some time tonight or on Wednesday. He should be fine but you never know with elbows to the face, which could cause nose injuries or even a concussion.
