Round two of the NBA playoffs have arrived and as the field whittles down, we draw one step closer to anointing a new champion. Like for round one, we’ll be breaking down DraftKings Sportsbook championship odds for each team as the postseason continues.
A heavy contender are the No. 3 seed Milwaukee Bucks out of the Eastern Conference, who dismantled the reigning EC Champion Miami Heat in a four-game first-round sweep. Giannis Antetokounmpo shined as usual by averaging a double-double in the sweep but he had plenty of backup with Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Jrue Holiday, Bryn Forbes, and Bobby Portis each averaging double-digit points for the series.
Their calling card throughout the series was their dominance on the defensive end of the floor and they’ll need plenty of that intensity when matching up with the Brooklyn Nets ‘Big 3’ of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving.
Milwaukee Bucks odds to win NBA championship: +550
At +550 to win it all and +250 to win the east, the Bucks are a popular pick with some good value to go all the way. However, they’re about to encounter their biggest hurdle in Brooklyn, who as of now are the odds-on favorite to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy later this summer. Slowing down Brooklyn’s offense is a tough proposition but this year’s Bucks team, boosted by the addition of Holiday, seems ready and primed for the moment. If they can topple the trio of Harden, Durant, and Irving in a seven-game series, their odds of an NBA title will only shoot up.
