The Hawks jumped out to a massive lead in Game 1 and eventually held on for a 128-124 win. Trae Young continues to shine in the postseason and torched the Sixers for 35 points in the opener. John Collins added 21 points for Atlanta and is proving his worth after not being able to reach a long-term deal with the team. This group seems destined for big things in the future.
Joel Embiid played in Game 1 and appeared to have no limitations but the Sixers got in too big of a hole early. Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris eventually picked up the slack to get the team back in the game, but Philadelphia will have to be better to start Game 2. The Hawks are far more talented than the Wizards and Young is trying to prove he’s a star in the league. Philadelphia is still favored in the series, but will need to take back home-court advantage eventually.
