The trend of injured stars has continued deep into the NBA Playoffs, and the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks have been hit hard heading into Game 5 on Thursday, July 1st. Trae Young missed Game 4 with a bone bruise on his right foot, and Giannis Antetokounmpo had plenty of NBA fans constantly checking Twitter after what was feared to be a season-ending knee injury. Both stars are out for Game 5.
Hawks vs. Bucks, 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT
Pick ATS: Bucks -2
Plenty of public bettors are going to overreact to the injury to Antetokounmpo because of Tuesday night. Atlanta built a lead even before Antetokounmpo left, but the Hawks dominated Milwaukee immediately after the injury. Expect the Bucks to play much better as they return home with an off day to reset and prepare to play without their star in the lineup. Khris Middleton will be asked to do quite a bit, and he has a good shot to prove he can lead a team to a huge playoff win.
Player Prop: Khris Middleton over 2.5 3-pointers (-143)
Middleton is chucking from deep, averaging 8.8 attempts per game in the series. With Antetokounmpo out, the Bucks need Middleton to be the best player on the floor. That means lighting up Atlanta from behind the arc as well. Middleton is struggling in the series shooting, but is usually reliable from the perimeter. Expect him to hit at least three in Game 5.
