The 2021 Gold Cup has arrived and gets underway on Saturday, July 10. The tournament features 16 teams, but really this is all but certain to come down to two teams: the United States and Mexico.
The tournament opens on Saturday with Mexico and its three Group A compatriots kicking things off. El Salvador is a slim favorite in its opener with Curacao while Mexico is a massive favorite against Trinidad & Tobago.
Saturday update: El Salvador vs. Guatemala has been moved to Sunday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: Guatemala has replaced Curacao due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
Gold Cup 2021 Saturday, July 10 schedule
Mexico vs. Trinidad & Tobago
Time: 10:30 p.m.
TV channel: FS1
Live stream: FOX.com/live, Bally Sports app, TUDN, fuboTV
Moneyline: Mexico -1667, Trinidad & Tobago +3500, Tie +770
Total goals: 2.5 (Over -205, Under +163)
Best Bet: Mexico under 2.5 goals (+128)
Mexico is the clear favorite in this match and should win easily, but El Tri has struggled recently against what some would consider subpar opponents. Mexico had 0-0 draws with Costa Rica and Honduras and has the tendency to play down to the level of its opponents. Trinidad is likely to park the bus, making things even more tough for Mexico. Expect El Tri to win the game, but not score more than two goals.
