Who is playing in 2021 MLB All-Star Futures Game?

We take a look at the full roster for the 2021 MLB All-Star Futures Game.

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at Colorado Rockies Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The MLB All-Star Break is almost here, and one of the most underrated events is one that will likely feature some of the sport’s biggest stars in the future. The MLB All-Star Futures Game is a bit hidden, as it takes place on Sunday, July 11th around the same time MLB teams play their final game before the break. The Futures Game will start at 3:00 p.m. ET from Coors Field in Denver and can be seen on MLB Network or streamed on MLB.com.

Some of these players could make an impact on their MLB team as early as the 2021 season. With 50 total players in this game, plenty of talent will be on display as 31 prospects in the MLB’s top 100 will be competing. The American League has 15 of them with 16 on the National League’s side.

On the A.L. team, the two most recent No. 1 overall draft picks will compete with Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman and Detroit Tigers infielder Spencer Torkelson on the field. They rank as the No. 2 and No. 3 prospects, respectively. The fourth and fifth top prospects in baseball are also on this American League roster with a pair of Seattle Mariners outfielders including Jarred Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez.

The National League will have the pitching matchup in this game with the top four pitching prospects who are participating in this game. The pitching staff will be led by Max Meyer of the Miami Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals’ Matthew Liberatore, Pittsburgh Pirate Quinn Priester and Nick Lodolo of the Cincinnati Reds.
