The American League won yet again in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, defeating the National League by a final score of 5-2. Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. powered the AL with a two-run homer and claimed MVP honors as the league won for the eighth straight year.
Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks pitched the final inning of the game to secure the save. He struck out one batter but did give up two hits. His control was not ideal at times, and he made sure to let the viewing public know it.
FOX mic’d up a host of players, and Hendriks did not shy away from his usual self. Closers can get a little intense, and Hendriks was in the zone as he worked to close out the AL. It took a little extra work, but Hendriks took care of business in the end to secure the win. I can’t imagine his choice of words if things had gone poorly.
