The CONCACAF Gold Cup continues with Group A gearing up for matchday 2. A last-minute change due to a COVID outbreak in the Curacao team forced them to withdraw from the tournament, so Guatemala was called in to take their place in Group A. Mexico will face off against Guatemala at 9:30 p.m. on FS1 hoping to recover from a draw against Trinidad & Tobago.
If you are not in front of a television, FOX.com/live and the Bally Sports app will live stream the match. You’ll need a cable subscription to access both. If you don’t have one, you can get a free trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the match.
Mexico entered the tournament as favorites, but they couldn’t break a 0-0 tie against Trinidad & Tobago despite having 30 shots. El Tri will need to be better off against a Guatemala unit that’ll only improve as it spends more time together. A draw here could signal trouble for Mexico.
Guatemala was hurried in to the Cup to replace Curacao, but surprisingly held its own against El Salvador. The Guatemalans conceded two late goals in the loss, but can provide similar problems for Mexico. The underdogs have nothing to lose in this contest and can play without pressure.
