Peru and Paraguay face off on Friday, July 2 at 5 p.m. ET in the 2021 Copa América quarterfinals. The match will air on FS1 and take place in Goiânia. Paraguay is a -125 favorite to advance at DraftKings Sportsbook, while Peru is a +100 underdog.

Both Peru and Paraguay won two of their four matches in the group stage and qualified for the knockout rounds without too much trouble. Peru finished second place in Group B, just three points behind Brazil as they logged victories over both Colombia 2-1 and Venezuela 1-0, while drawing 2-2 with Ecuador and dropped their result against Brazil 4-0. Paraguay finished third in Group A just one point behind Uruguay, notching a 3-1 win over Bolivia and a 2-0 win over Chile, while losing 1-0 to both Argentina and Uruguay.

Al Hilal attacker Andre Carrillo leads Peru in the tournament with two goals, scoring one a piece in their last two matches against Venezuela and Ecuador. While Paraguay are favored to advance, Carrillo is in fantastic form and could see the back of the net at least once as Paraguay were only able to keep one clean sheet throughout all four matches in the group stage. Paraguay were shut out twice in group play by Argentina and Uruguay, but really shined in their other two matches. Former MLS standout Miguel Almiron notched a goal and an assist in their 2-0 win over Chile. While the final result could go either way, I think Paraguay escapes with a win in this likely low-scoring affair, and will move on to face the winner of Brazil-Chile in the semifinals.
