Knockout action begins in Copa America 2021 with Peru and Paraguay facing off in the early game and Brazil and Chile meeting in the primetime slot. Here’s how the public is betting on both games.

July 2 betting splits

Peru vs. Paraguay

Peru (+200): 64% handle, 56% bets
Tie (+190): 5% handle, 8% bets
Paraguay (+165): 32% handle, 36% bets

Paraguay is favored according to oddsmakers but the public is taking Peru in this match. 56 percent of wagers are coming in on the underdogs, who went 2-1-1 in the group stage. Peru has a -2 goal differential but still managed to finish second in the group. Paraguay will lean on Angel Romero, who has two goals in the competition so far.

Brazil vs. Chile

Brazil (-265): 82% handle, 88% bets
Tie (+360): 10% handle, 9% bets
Chile (+800): 8% handle, 3% bets

The hosts are heavily favored to win this contest with 82 percent of the money and 88 percent of wagers coming in on them. Chile hasn’t had much around Eduardo Vargas and Brazil is playing with a lot of confidence. Expect Neymar and company to keep things rolling Friday.
