Major League Baseball will have plenty of attention in the coming weeks with the only one of the four major leagues in action at this point. Bettors will have plenty of opportunities to make some money moving forward, and 15 games will be on the slate on Wednesday, July 21st with a doubleheader between the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres.

Here we’re going to be tracking all the best MLB picks base on the odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday night’s baseball action.

MLB picks for Wednesday, July 21st

Orioles vs. Rays over 8 runs (-115)

The offenses for the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays should have plenty of success with struggling pitchers on the mound. Baltimore will start Keegan Akin, who has an 8.19 ERA through 13 appearances including eight starts in his second season in the majors. Michael Wacha started 11 games with a total of 16 appearances in his first year with the Rays with a 5.14 ERA. Both teams are set up for a big-time performance at the plate, and the run total of eight is far too low.

Royals vs. Brewers -1.5 (+110)

Milwaukee’s offense returned with a bang out of the break and scored seven runs in each of their first three games. The Brewers scored just two runs in Tuesday’s loss to the Kansas City Royals, but they racked up nine hits. Milwaukee will roll out Eric Lauer on the mound with a 3.83 ERA, while Brad Keller will go for the Royals with a 5.97 ERA through 19 starts this year. The Brewers offense should be ready for a big game this afternoon.

Jeff Hoffman U4.5 strikeouts (-105)

Cincinnati Reds starter Jeff Hoffman will make his first start in nearly two months, so it will be interesting to see how long he is allowed to throw in his return. He had been on the injured list with a shoulder injury, but he wasn’t racking up the strikeouts prior to his stint on the IL. In 10 starts this season, Hoffman reached 4.5 strikeouts just three times in 2021. Additionally, the Mets don’t strike out all that often as they have the 22nd most strikeouts in the MLB.
