Angels (-130) vs. Twins

The Los Angeles Angels dropped four of their first five games coming out of the All-Star break but was able to get a reprieve when downing the lowly Minnesota Twins 3-2 in their series opener on Thursday.

Shohei Ohtani, Jared Walsh, and company will have ample opportunity to put runs on the board when matched up against Twins starter J.A. Happ, who has the highest ERA of all starting pitchers this afternoon (6.15). Happ was shelled for 11 hits and seven earned runs in his last outing versus Detroit on Sunday and when you combine this with the Twins having to alter the lineup because Nelson Cruz’s departure to the Rays, taking L.A. to crush Minnesota here would be an easy play.

Padres vs. Marlins Under 7.5 (-110)

The San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins have taken part in some low-scoring nailbiters throughout the week, games decided by five runs or less. Expect that trend to continue tonight when San Diego’s Joe Musgrove (3.14 ERA) steps on the mound to go head to-head with Zach Thompson (1.93 ERA), who has only given up six earned runs in his last seven outings.

Gerritt Cole Over 7.5 strikeouts vs. Red Sox (-105)

The AL Cy Young candidate leads the entire majors in strikeouts and has eclipsed 10+ in back-to-back outings. His last start came against none other than Boston, when he fanned 11 Red Sox batters in just six innings to pick up the win. Expect more of the same this evening at Fenway.
