Twelve games are on the MLB slate for Thursday, July 29th, but we’ve got five matchups to take a look at on the DraftKings main slate, all of which are scheduled for the nightcap.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the MLB game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can learn more about MLB DFS strategy, including team stacks, here.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Thursday, July 29th.
Brewers vs. Pirates, 7:05 p.m. ET
Willy Adames ($4,600)
Kolten Wong ($4,200)
Omar Narvaez ($3,700)
The Milwaukee Brewers offense is on fire right now, and they are putting up plenty of runs on the scoreboard. Milwaukee scored six or more runs in four of their last five games. They will go up against Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Chad Kuhl, who has been pitching well, but the Brewers have hit him pretty hard in two matchups this season. In two starts against Milwaukee, Kuhl allowed nine runs, eight of which were earned, in 8.1 innings of work.
Blue Jays vs. Red Sox, 7:10 p.m.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($6,500)
Marcus Semien ($5,800)
Bo Bichette ($5,700)
The Toronto Blue Jays’ top hitters are always going to be expensive, but they are going to be worth the price against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night. They have a matchup against starter Eduardo Rodriguez, who has a 5.23 ERA in 19 starts. He left his last start in the second inning with migraine symptoms and while Rodriguez has pitched better, that’s still a high ERA in a sample size of 19 innings.
Athletics vs. Angels, 9:38 p.m. ET
Shohei Ohtani ($6,200)
Max Stassi ($4,400)
David Fletcher ($4,300)
The Los Angeles Angels lineup has done well recently in a four-game stretch in which they scored six runs or more in three of their last four games. They have a decent matchup against Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas, who has a 4.34 ERA over 20 starts. You won’t go wrong with Shohei Ohtani in your lineup.
