The final WWE Smackdown of the month comes to us live from the Target Center in Minneapolis tonight and with just over three weeks remaining until Summerslam in Las Vegas, expect more strong build to the showcase at Allegiant Stadium with a possible surprise return.

How to watch

Date: Friday, July 30

Time: 8 p.m. ET

Network: Fox

Live stream: or Fox Now App

In the final segment of last week’s show, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns turned down John Cena’s challenge for a title match but was promptly greeted by another one from Finn Balor, who had defeated Sami Zayn earlier in the night. Reigns proceeded to accept the challenge, opening the door for Balor, the first ever Universal title holder, the reclaim the belt after being forced to vacate it due to injury in 2016. We’ll see how Cena, who is scheduled to appear tonight, will be interwoven back into the story with the possibility of a triple-threat at Summerslam looming.

With Summerslam approaching, the rumors have been churning that tonight will mark the return of former Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, who has been away since losing her title to Bianca Belair at Wrestlemania in April. With Belair lacking challengers heading into the big show in Las Vegas, a rematch with Banks makes the most sense.

Also on the show, expect to see a continuation of the feud between the Smackdown Tag Team Champion Usos and Rey and Dominik Mysterio. We could also see a tag team match featuring Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Corbin’s transition from king to broke slob has been one of the highlights of the show for the past few weeks and KO showing sympathy towards him could be the start of an unexpected alliance.
