With plenty of betting options to choose from, we have narrowed down the best bets to four. All 30 teams are scheduled to play on the 4th of July, and the slate will feature 16 games starting at 11:05 a.m. ET, and the final first pitch will take place at 9:10 p.m. ET. Whether your Independence Day includes grilling out, a day on the lake or competing in a hot dog eating contest, we will hopefully provide an opportunity for you to make some money on this holiday weekend.
Here we’re going to be tracking all the best MLB picks base on the odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s baseball action.
MLB picks for Sunday, July 4th
Giants -1.5 (-115) vs. Diamondbacks
The San Francisco Giants enter Sunday with the best record in baseball at 52-30, while the Arizona Diamondbacks are in last place by a wide margin with a 23-62 record. We could go Giants moneyline at -182, but taking them to win by two or more runs seems like the better value play. The pitching matchup is fairly even, but San Francisco has much better hitters. They should cover this run line as they go for their third straight win over the Diamondbacks.
Milwaukee -1.5 (-120) vs. Pirates
The Milwaukee Brewers are the hottest team in baseball right now with an 11-game winning streak, and they have been scoring a ton during this run. They scored seven or more runs in each of their last four games and during this streak, they won by more than one run eight times. Milwaukee will start with Freddy Peralta on the mound with a 7-2 record and 2.17 ERA, so there is a lot to like about the Brewers in this spot.
Cubs vs. Reds (-117)
The Brewers and Chicago Cubs were battling for the top spot in the National League Central just two weeks ago before Milwaukee surged, and Chicago has collapsed. The Cubs have lost eight in a row, and the Cincinnati Reds are going for a sweep and their fourth consecutive win. Cincinnati has Wade Miley on the mound, and he has been solid with a 6-4 record and 3.09 ERA. Getting the Reds at -117 is tremendous value given how both teams have been playing as of late.
Freddy Peralta Under 6.5 strikeouts (-103)
Milwaukee’s starting pitchers have performed very well this season, and Freddy Peralta is certainly not an exception. Still, it is unlikely he reaches seven strikeouts on Sunday despite doing so in each of his last two starts. Pittsburgh is really struggling right now with a 29-53 record and a six-game losing streak, but they do not strikeout very much. The Pirates have the fifth fewest total strikeouts this season, and we’ll bet they get the bat on the ball enough times on Independence Day.
