The Minnesota Vikings have taken a step forward in the Kirk Cousins era, but have not hit the ultimate milestone of a Super Bowl title. The Vikings have a strong offense centered around RB Dalvin Cook, but receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen will be key pieces for Minnesota’s championship aspirations.
990.5 receiving yards: Over (-115) or Under (-115)
Our pick: Over
Since Thielen emerged as a starting receiver in 2016, he’s played in 73 games over five seasons. He racked up 4,959 yards in those years, averaging 991.8 yards per season. Even with the issues surrounding Minnesota’s quarterbacks, adding a 17th game should push Thielen over 990.5 receiving yards if he stays healthy.
9 receiving TDs: Over (+105) or Under (-135)
Our pick: Under
Thielen has 38 touchdowns in the same span mentioned above, which comes out to 7.6 scores per season. However, the receiver had 14 touchdowns last season. With the emergence of Jefferson as a threat and Minnesota’s offense primarily leaning on the rushing game, it’s tough to see Thielen hit double digits for touchdowns again. Even with an extra game, the under looks to be the safer pick.
