Just how quickly can the Cincinnati Bengals make a run at the AFC North? They’re definitely headed in the right direction, thanks in no small part to a solid franchise cornerstone built around two former teammates from LSU, back-to-back first-round picks too. But as bright as the future is for quarterback Joe Burrow and receiver Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals might not be ready to produce at that level just yet.

Here, we’ll take a look at the prop bets on the table for Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.

Ja’Marr Chase player props 2 021 NFL season

1025.5 receiving yards: Over (-120) or Under (-110)

Our pick: Under

Chase’s talent is undeniable, and he should have a long, productive NFL career. However, his rookie season totals are unlikely to hit the mark this year. It’s difficult for first-year receivers to break the 1,000-yard ceiling. Only one player did it last year (Justin Jefferson) and just one the year before (A.J. Brown). Prior to 2019, you had to go back to 2016 when Michael Thomas did it in New Orleans. And while Chase is clearly the best receiver on the Bengals, the team does have Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins who are also pretty good. Another factor working against Chase this season is the fact the quarterback Joe Burrow is less than a year removed from a nasty knee injury. It’s going to take him some time to get his game legs back under him.

7 receiving TDs: Over (-120) or Under (-110)

Our pick: Under

We’re fading Chase here for the same reasons listed above. He’s a big bodied target with sure hands, the kind of player who will thrive in the red zone, but all signs are pointing to the Bengals struggling a bit too much for Chase to get those kind of numbers this year.
