The Miami Dolphins enter 2021-22 with QB Tua Tagovailoa in the spotlight. The Dolphins added WR Will Fuller in free agency and WR Jaylen Waddle in the draft with the intention of giving Tagovailoa enough weapons to put together a big season. Miami is coming off a 10-6 season and will hope to make the playoffs while Tagovailoa shows he’s a franchise quarterback. However, he isn’t the only player looking to cement a future in South Florida.
750.5 rushing yards: Over (-125) or Under (-105)
Our pick: Over
Gaskin looked to be on the way out last season with Jordan Howard and Matt Brieda coming in, but the Washington product kept chugging away and ultimately won the starting job. The only other running back likely to take touches away from Gaskin this year is Malcolm Brown, and that’s only really as more as a receiving back. Expect Gaskin to get a massive workload this season to take pressure off Tagovailoa. The over is the play here, even if Gaskin’s efficiency and prior production isn’t amazing. If Tagovailoa is for real, Gaskin will also see lesser stacked boxes to help boost his production.
5.5 rushing TDs: Over (+100) or Under (-130)
Our pick: Over
The Dolphins have a lot of weapons in the red zone. TE Mike Gesicki and WR DeVante Parker are going to take opportunities away from Gaskin, but the Dolphins are still going to run the ball near the endzone. Six touchdowns in 17 games is not a tough ask and at + odds, there’s some value here.
