Despite being 31, Marvin Jones finds himself in a situation where he’s likely going to have a big impact on his new team. He’s coming off the second-best season of his career, but those numbers are going to be harder to touch this year in Jacksonville than they were in Detroit.
825.5 receiving yards: Over (-110) or Under (-120)
Our pick: Under
Jones was a lifesaver in Detroit last season, one of the few highlights the Lions could boast, filling in when the team needed a No. 1 receiver to step up. He finished with 978 yards, the second-best total of his career. While Jones is still a solid option on the outside, he’s a clear second fiddle here to D.J. Chark. He’s also playing with a rookie quarterback, albeit a good one, but that’s going to mean more emphasis on the run game. Put it all together, and it’s going to be hard for Jones to go over on this one.
5.5 receiving TDs: Over (-130) or Under (+100)
Our pick: Under
Jones has had nine touchdowns in three of his last four seasons. He’s one of those guys who fights tooth and nail for the ball, and usually finds himself coming up with it. But same as above, the situation in Jacksonville just isn’t conducive to catching six touchdowns for Jones.
