Dak Prescott to get another MRI, but Cowboys want fans to not worry

The Cowboys QB insists he’ll be ready for Week 1 of the NFL season. We’ll see.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott sat out the Hall of Fame Game last week due to a shoulder strain and is likely to miss this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. He is hoping to get back for some snaps in the third preseason game, but that seems unlikely given how important he is to the franchise.

It’s also possible this news is indicative of him getting the rest of the preseason to recover. The Dallas Cowboys announced Prescott is getting another MRI on his shoulder when the team breaks camp this weekend in California and returns to Texas. It’s likely just to see how things are coming along, but the Cowboys’ tweet is something that, while well-intentioned, is likely to get some concerned responses.

The tweet feels like a real life version of Kevin Bacon telling everybody to remain calm during the climactic scene of Animal House.

Prescott said he plans on being fully ready for Week 1 on September 9 when the Cowboys travel to Tampa Bay to face the Super Bowl champs. We’ll see if that actually holds up.
