Jonathan Taylor burst onto the scene in his rookie season in the NFL after an illustrious career with the Wisconsin Badgers. But will he fall into a sophomore slump?
Here, we’ll take a look at the prop bets on the table for Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.
1275.5 rushing yards: Over (-115) or Under (-115)
Our pick: Under
Taylor was forced into the RB1 role early last season after Colts back Marlon Mack suffered a season-ending injury just a couple of snaps into their season opener. Taylor started slow, but ended up getting comfortable as the season went on. Still, he finished the year with less than 1,200 yards. He should be more efficient this season, but he probably won’t get as many carries with the return of Mack, who is a capable RB1 himself. It will be interesting to see how head coach Frank Reich uses two talented backs.
11 rushing TDs: Over (+100) or Under (-130)
Our pick: Under
This is more of the same as the above. The Colts were more of a run-first team last season, to begin with last year when Taylor finished with 11 scores. But with a new QB that Reich is familiar with, there’s no telling how pass-heavy or not Indy will be this season. Mack must also be taken into account again here. He had 17 rushing scores over his last two seasons, so the Colts probably won’t want to let Taylor tire himself out when they have somebody just as efficient behind him.
