The Baltimore Ravens looked like they were going to revolutionize the league when QB Lamar Jackson won the MVP award but the team has failed to go far in the postseason, going 1-3 under Jackson so far. With a run-heavy offense, Jackson’s abilities as a passer are rarely put to the test until a pressure game. The Ravens have overhauled the receiver group in attempt to do more with the passing game.
Here, we’ll take a look at the prop bets on the table for Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.
600.5 rushing yards: Over (-120) or Under (-110)
Our pick: Over
Edwards is not the star of Baltimore’s backfield, but the man has stuck around and produced for three seasons in a complementary role. Given how much Baltimore uses its running backs, injuries are always a factor in this backfield. Edwards has three straight seasons with at least 700 rushing yards. Take the over here, even if there’s a drop in carries per game with J.K. Dobbins emerging as the lead back.
4.5 rushing touchdowns: Over (-140) or Under (+110)
Our pick: Under
Edwards had six touchdowns last season, but only two in both of his previous seasons. It’s more likely he sees some regression in this area, even if he emerges as the “goal-line back” for the Ravens. Jackson is still the biggest threat near the endzone and Dobbins will get enough touches to take Edwards out of the running for this prop. The under is the better play here.
