Widely considered the most competitive domestic league in the world, the Premier League returns to action with Manchester City looking for a fourth title in five seasons. Liverpool looks to get back to the top of the league after a historic 2019-20 campaign, while Chelsea and Manchester United appear poised to challenge for the crown as well.

Here’s a look at Premier League odds for the 2021-22 seasons courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

The favorite

Manchester City (-165)

Pep Guardiola was unable to land Lionel Messi, but he still has a loaded roster. Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish form a great tandem in midfield. Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez are solid at the front. Manchester City’s defense will need some work, but Guardiola tends to favor scoring more goals over defending. There’s still a chance the club can get something done with Harry Kane, but this team doesn’t need him to lift the title.

The other contenders

Chelsea (+500)

Last season’s Champions League winners made a big splash Monday, adding striker Romelu Lukaku to take their attack to the next level. Chelsea already has a great collection of attacking talent with USMNT’s Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Timo Werner but Lukaku is a different beast. Chelsea’s biggest advantage is being strong in defense, with Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell leading the charge in that area. Thomas Tuchel has done a masterful job with this club, which is hoping to break a four-season title drought.

Liverpool (+550)

The Reds followed up a historic Premier League crown with a somewhat disappointing third-place finish. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino still form one of the best offensive trios in the world and Virgil van Dijk should be back to solidify the team’s defense. Losing Andy Robertson for the start of the season hurts, but this squad has enough depth to hang in the title race. Jurgen Klopp is one of the best managers in football, giving Liverpool another advantage.

Manchester United (+750)

One of the most iconic clubs in the world, Manchester United hopes to end an eight-year title drought in the upcoming season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still at the helm and has some additional help. Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane are huge signings for the club. It appears Paul Pogba will be in the mix as well despite transfer rumors. Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire round out a great core. Mason Greenwood is a young talent to watch in this squad.

Tottenham, Leicester City, Arsenal (+5000)

These teams are longshots according to the oddsmakers, but all have the roster capable of making some noise this season. After all, no one thought Leicester City would win the Premier League back in 2015-16.

Tottenham has Harry Kane, arguably the best striker in the world. It also has a dynamic creator in Son Heung-min. Hugo Lloris is no slouch in goal and Ben Davies is solid in defense. Leicester City still has a talented core of Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Kasper Schmeichel. Arsenal has been stuck in a rut but has a great goalscorer in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and an emerging talent in Bukayo Saka.

Best bet to win league: Chelsea (+500)

On value, Chelsea and Manchester United offer the biggest payoff. Both squads are loaded and capable of winning the league, but Chelsea has a little more proven talent and balance. Lukaku is one of the best players in the world in front of goal and will allow Werner to operate more on the wings. Pulisic and Mount continue to ascend. Chelsea’s defense is likely to be one of the best in the league and ultimately, that could be the difference in the title race.

Best bet for top goalscorer: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (+1800)

Aubameyang did not have a good year in 2020-21, but he was runner-up for this award in 2019-20. Goals tend to have high variance, but Aubameyang is a proven scorer. He had 22 goals in his first two full seasons with Arsenal before scoring just 10 last season. That is probably a fluke performance. Expect the star striker to get back on track and at +1800, the payoff is tremendous.

Best bet for Player of the Year: Bruno Fernandes (+1000)

Manchester United is going to be in the title race and Fernandes will be at the center of the club’s push. He’s going to be instrumental in setting up Rashford and Sancho in the final third, while also taking penalties for the team. He’s in a great position to have a strong season in terms of goals and assists while also delivering tremendous value at +1000.
