Bundesliga returns to action on Friday, August 13 as their opening weekend of the 2021-22 season kicks off with Borussa Monchengladbach taking on the reigning German champions Bayern Munich. Six matches follow on Saturday and then two matches wrap the first weekend on Sunday.

If you’re looking to watch Bundesliga matches on TV in the US, you’re in luck. ESPN, ABC, and ESPN Deportes will be broadcasting select matches throughout the season, but where you’ll really find the bulk of the action is on the streaming service ESPN+. They’ll be showing over 300 Bundesliga games both English and Spanish, while even airing some select Bundesliga 2 matches as well. If you’re not already signed up for ESPN+, they offer a reasonable rate at $5.99/month or you can get in on a bundle with Disney+ and Hulu as well.

Bayern Munich are heavily favored to win the league yet again, which would make their 10th-straight title in Germany’s top flight league. Robert Lewandowski has dominated the league, winning the Golden Boot honors for the last four years in a row, scoring a career-high 41 goals in league play last season through just 29 games. Borussia Dortmund is next in line to win the league, but they’re a far cry away from Bayern in the race for the title.
