The Jacksonville Jaguars enter a new era under head coach Urban Meyer and rookie QB Trevor Lawrence, hoping to erase the pain of a 1-15 season and help the team get back to the playoffs soon.
Here we’ll take a look at the workload for rookie QB Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville Jaguars’s Week 1 preseason game against the Cleveland Browns and how he performed during his reps.
Trevor Lawrence’s Week 1 stat line
6-9, 71 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
How did Trevor Lawrence perform in Week 1?
Lawrence didn’t throw any touchdowns, but he also didn’t make any big mistakes. His best play was a 35-yard strike to Marvin Jones Jr., who made a fantastic catch to secure the pass.
This was an absolute dime down the field by Trevor Lawrence.

The Clemson rookie was accurate and rarely missed throws, but he still has some things to work on. He held onto the ball a bit too long at times and took a sack and fumbled, but was able to recover it himself. But there is no doubt he looks the part when pushing the ball downfield. Expect him to keep getting work as the preseason progresses, especially if the Jaguars truly believe Lawrence is in a competition with Gardner Minshew, which he probably isn’t.
