The welterweight division gets its highest profile fight of the year on Saturday when Manny Pacquiao faces off against Yordenis Ugas for the WBA Super championship. This was going to be a megafight between Pacquiao and unbeaten WBC and IBF champ Errol Spence, Jr., but Spence had to withdraw nine days ago due to an eye injury.
Pacquiao and Ugas will step into the ring Saturday night, but before then we’ll get the Friday weigh-in. The max weight allowed for a welterweight fight is 147 pounds, but there is no reason to think either boxer will come in over the limit. The weigh-in is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Friday, August 20 and will be available via live stream at FITE.tv.
Pacquiao enters the fight as a -360 favorite to win at DraftKings Sportsbook. Ugas is a +275 underdog. Ugas comes into the fight holding the WBA title, although notably enough, he was promoted from the Regular version of the title in January after Pacquiao was stripped of the title due to inactivity.
