UPDATE:
#Eagles say Jalen Hurts' illness is not COVID-19 related
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) August 19, 2021
UPDATE: An interesting observation from pregame warmups had Hurts dancing and in good spirits right before the game, per NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo. We can’t really infer much from the that note, but there may be more to the story than we know at this point.
If you tuned in to see Jalen Hurts start against the New England Patriots in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, you’ll notice Joe Flacco got the start instead. Hurts came down with an illness, so the Eagles decided to sit him tonight.
Joe Flacco starts for the Eagles tonight. That's disappointing. I was hoping to see Jalen Hurts

Joe Flacco and the Eagles had two successful plays, a 12 yard pass to Kenny Gainwell and a ten yard rush from Miles Sanders to start the game. Unfortunately a bad snap lead to a fumble recovery which the Patriots turned into a Damien Harris rushing touchdown from five yards out.
