LSU faced a decision at the quarterback position heading into the start of the 2021 regular season, but it would appear that decision has been forced out of their own hands. Quarterback Myles Brennan suffered a broken arm and will have surgery on Tuesday, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.
Brennan was the team’s starter to open last season and over the first three games completed 60.3% of his passes and threw for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns. He suffered an injury against Missouri that sidelined him the rest of the season.
He was competing with Max Johnson for the starting QB role, but it would appear Johnson will start on September 4 when LSU opens the season against UCLA. Last season, Johnson completed 58.7 percent of his passes and threw for 1,069 yards with 8 touchdowns and 1 interception.
