The showcase of the summer has finally arrived for the WWE as SummerSlam is set to kick off live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 21. The event gets going at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock Network.
This marks the first SummerSlam event to air on a Saturday since the well-remembered 1992 event that took place across the pond at Wembley Stadium in London. WWE President Nick Khan has indicated in an earnings call last month that more Saturday pay-per-views will be implemented moving forward with this one in Vegas being the kickoff.
How to watch
Date: Saturday, August 21 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV
Time: 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT
Live stream: Streaming live on Peacock. It was also announced in July that the show will be screened live at various movie theaters nationwide. Check your local listings for tickets.
The company has put months of build towards this supershow, shifting into high gear once they started touring in front of live crowds again in mid-July. The card will be headlined by seven title matches, featuring an epic clash between John Cena and Roman Reigns and a Wrestlemania rematch between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Potential undercard matches that could steal the show include WWE Hall of Famer Edge facing Seth Rollins and the Usos fighting the Mysterios for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.
DraftKings is offering a $25,000 prize pool for predictions on Cena vs. Reigns.
