Veteran guard Danny Green has signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. He previously signed a two-year, $30 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019 before being shipped to the Oklahoma City Thunder and subsequently, the Philadelphia 76ers last December.
Coming off earning NBA championship rings with both the Toronto Raptors and L.A. Lakers, Green joined another contender in Philadelphia during the 2020-21 campaign where his production ticked up from the previous year. Starting 69 games, he put up 9.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in an average of 28 minutes a night for the top-seed in the Eastern Conference. His three-point shooting also ticked back up as well, attempting 6.3 threes a game versus his 4.8 with the champion Lakers the year prior. At 34 years of age, the 12-year veteran’s role will most likely be served primarily as a ‘3 and D’ guy.
