Race day update: There is a chance of scattered thunderstorms around 3-6 p.m. With the green flag dropping at 3 p.m. for the Go Bowling at the Glen race, things could get a little messy. Accuweather shows shows potential for thunderstorms in the 3 p.m. hour while the National Weather Service suggests the biggest chance for rain is after 4 p.m.
NASCAR is heading down to the Watkins Glen International for a full weekend of racing after a brief hiatus due to the Tokyo Summer Olympics. To begin things on Saturday, we have the Camping World Truck Series United Rentals 176 race and Xfinity Series Skrewball Peanut Butter 200 at 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET, respectively. To wrap up race weekend, the Cup Series will run the Go Bowling at the Glen race at 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Below we’ll take a look at the weather projected for the Watkins Glen International this weekend at Watkins Glen, New York, with info courtesy of AccuWeather. Since we are still a couple of days out from race weekend, the forecasts are all tentative.
