In the main event interim title bout at heavyweight for UFC 265, Derrick Lewis will take on Ciryl Gane Saturday live from Houston on Saturday, August 7 and available on ESPN+ PPV.

The 36-year-old Lewis enters the octagon with a professional fighting record of 25-7 (1 NC), and is ranked second in the heavyweight division. “The Black Beast” last competed at UFC Fight Night 185 in February, defeating Curtis Blaydes by knockout in Round 2.

The veteran heavyweight fighter averages 2.59 strikes per minute, with an accuracy of 50%. But the 36-year-old only absorbs 2.16 strikes per minute, while he defends against them at 44%.

As for Gane, he walks into the main event with a professional fighting record of 9-0. He is currently ranked third in the heavyweight class. This will be “Bon Gamin” Gane’s third bout this year. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 190 in June, where Gane defeated Volkov by unanimous decision.

The 31-year-old French fighter lands 5.13 significant strikes per minute with 54% accuracy. He also absorbs more strikes than Lewis at 2.6 per minute and defends against them at 47%.
