Tracking MLB betting action for Sunday, August 8th

MLB picks for Sunday, August 8th

Angels +1.5 (+140)

The Los Angeles Angels are heavy underdogs against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon, but they are worthy of a run line bet especially with this value. The Angels will start Reid Detmers, who was hit pretty start in his MLB debut last week. Walker Buehler will throw for the Dodgers and while he has been fantastic, the team lost two of his last three starts. The odds are slanted so far toward the Dodgers that the Angels are worth a look.

Rays vs. Orioles O10.5 (-110)

The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles have the highest run total on DraftKings Sportsbook at 10.5, but that’s still not high enough with the two starting pitchers going against one another. Tampa Bay will start Michael Wacha with a 5.26 ERA, while Baltimore’s Jorge Lopez has a 5.91 ERA. Both offenses are set up for success in this spot.

Reds O5.5 (-135)

You will need to spend a bit for a significant return with these odds, but the Cincinnati Reds are on fire offensively right now. They scored at least five runs in 13 of their last 15 games and scored a combined 22 runs in the previous two games in their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Zach Plesac U4.5 strikeouts (-105)

The Detroit Tigers strike out a ton with the third most in the MLB, but we’re still taking the under strikeout total for Cleveland Indians starter Zach Plesac. He has gone eight consecutive starts without reaching five strikeouts, and getting -105 value is a great bet given that history.
