Why Javonte Williams will go OVER or UNDER rushing yards for 2021 NFL season

While the Broncos’ QB battle garners most of the attention, the addition of Javonte Williams creates some competition among the running backs as well.

The Denver Broncos offense continues to wander the desert in the post-Peyton Manning era. Not only has the quarterback position become a nearly annual question mark, but the identity of the running game has too lacked for anything approximating a long-term solution. The Broncos hope that changes with the selection of North Carolina tailback Javonte Williams in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Here, we take a look at the prop bets on the table for Williams on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.

800.5 rushing yards: Over (-110) or Under (-120)

Our pick: Under

Williams will push for the starting job and might win it at some point in 2021. However, the Broncos simply haven’t demonstrated much rushing proficiency under the direction of Vic Fangio’s coaching staff, and that doesn’t seem likely to change meaningfully in 2021. Unless Williams starts the entire season — a possible scenario but far from a guarantee — he will have a difficult time finding the yards needed to hit the over.
