The Miami Dolphins added some pieces during the 2022 NFL Draft, but they likely won’t be fantasy players in this upcoming season. Before we dive into what impact these rookies could have on the Dolphins in 2022, let’s look back at last season.

With the sixth overall pick in the 2021 draft, Miami selected wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. He had an insane rookie year with 104 receptions for 1,015 yards and six touchdowns. The Dolphins made some moves to go all-in for the 2022 season, and it restricted their draft capital for this year’s draft. One of those moves included trading for wide receiver Tyreek Hill which gives Miami one of, if not the overall, best 1-2 punch for wide receivers in the league.

The Dolphins also signed running backs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert, wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The new focus for Miami seems to be investing in proven talent rather than striving to develop their own.

Dolphins 2022 Draft selections

No. 102: Channing Tindall, LB, Georgia
No. 125: Erik Ezukanma, WR, Texas Tech
No. 224: Cameron Goode, LB, Cal
No. 247: Skylar Thompson, WB, Kansas State

Fantasy football impact

The Dolphins took an athletic wideout from Texas Tech in Erik Ezukanma to provide depth behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. He’ll most likely be used sparingly to start the season.
