The San Francisco 49ers added some talent during the 2022 NFL Draft who should have a fantasy impact for this upcoming season. Before we dive into what impact these rookies could have on the 49ers in 2022, let’s look back at last season.
Despite subpar quarterback play, the 49ers reached the doorstep of the Super Bowl thanks to a strong defense, a dependable running game, and the game-changing ability of do-it-all wideout Deebo Samuel. Samuel is on the roster — at least for now — and it has a lot of familiar faces as the 49ers didn’t add or lose many impactful offensive skill players during the offseason.
They brought back RBs Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMychal Hasty, but neither can outclass Mitchell as a player. RB Raheem Mostert, who was incredibly instrumental in the team’s run to Super Bowl 54 in 2019 but missed nearly all of last season with a knee injury, signed with the Dolphins. Most of the team’s other significant offseason moves were made on the defensive side of the ball.

Fantasy football impact
San Fran’s first offensive selection came in the third round with LSU running back Tyrion Davis-Price coming towards the end of the third round. The tailback will try to compete for a backup role behind Elijah Mitchell.
The Niners used the last pick of the third round on SMU wideout Danny Gray. He’ll be fighting for a spot on the field but who knows how things could change with the Deebo Samuel situation intesifying.
