Furman has not been to the NCAA Tournament since 1980. They nearly blew their lead, falling behind with less than two minutes left in the game. They went on a cold shooting streak in the final two minutes of the game and were down by four before grabbing a free throw, a steal, and one perfect shot from the perimeter.
Jalen Slawson led the Paladins with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Marcus Foster added 14 of his own. JP Pegues made the game-winner. Furman will play the winner of San Diego State-Charleston in the second round.
