The early slate is jam-packed on the holiday weekend and we’re here to help you decide who you should pick up in your DFS roster and give you some solid value picks as well to stretch your money.
Top Pitchers
Carlos Rodon, CWS vs. Cleveland ($10,100) — Rodon has been dealing this year, with a 1.28 ERA over nearly 50 innings tossed. Cleveland has one of the worst offenses in baseball, so this should be a clear winner.
Corbin Burnes, MIL vs. Detroit Tigers ($9,900) — Burnes is putting an early Cy Young campaign together for himself. His ERA is hovering just over 2 and he has nearly 80 Ks in just under 50 innings pitched. The Tigers are the worst team in MLB so there’s no shocker behind the price tag here.
Top Hitters
Fernando Tatis Jr, SDP vs. Chicago Cubs ($6,100) — Outside of an injured Mike Trout, Tatis Jr. is the most expensive hitter on the board. He’s hitting just below .300 and ranks in the top 10 of virtually every offensive statistic.
Randy Arozarena, TBR vs. New York Yankees ($6,100) — The Rays rookie has been on fire this season. In eight games against the Yankees this season he has eight hits with three home runs and two doubles.
Value Pitcher
Johnny Cueto, SFG vs. LAA ($7,500) — Most times, even with their record what it is, you don’t want a starting pitcher going up against the Angels. Still, they have the greatest player of a generation in Mike Trout out of the lineup due to injury, plus Cueto has been solid this year, with a 3-1 record and an ERA just below 4.00.
Value Hitter
Jed Lowrie, OAK vs. SEA ($3,800) — Lowrie has had a solid last 10 games, getting 10 hits, three for extra bases, over that time. The potential is there for a big day taking on a rookie pitcher who has struggled in his first few appearances.
