The favorites advanced in the 2019 American League Division Series, and it brings us the showdown we’ve been waiting for most of the year. The 107-win Houston Astros will face off against the 103-win New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series. Game 1 is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET at Minute Maid Park in Houston, with the game airing on FOX. The Astros won the season series 4-3.
Both teams were heavy favorites in the ALDS, but they had to play decidedly different series to get here. The Yankees swept the Minnesota Twins, continuing their decade-long dominance of Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Astros took a relatively easy 2-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays before the Rays won two straight at home. It forced a deciding Game 5, but Houston controlled that one quickly to advance.
The Astros hold home field advantage in this series, and thus make the Yankees a rare postseason series underdog. DraftKings Sportsbook installed the Astros at -175 to advance past the Yankees, who are at +145. By comparison, DK has the Nationals installed at -125 to advance past the Cardinals, who are at +105.
