The offseason starts out with a bang for the Chicago White Sox, as they land Yasmani Grandal with a four-year contract worth $73 million. Grandal bet on himself last season, as he took a one-year deal from Milwaukee and turned that into his best season, with 28 home runs and 77 RBIs, both career highs.
White Sox GM Ken Williams was happy to get Grandal early in the offseason, as he hopes to build around him this winter. Chicago finished the 2018 season 72-89 coming off 95 and 100 loss seasons. They believe the turnaround is happening and that Grandal will be a consistent base week in and week out.
