The American League West is expected to be a tight, three-team race this summer. At least, that’s what the win total projections state as the A’s, Astros and Angels are all within four games of each other. Oakland is projected for 86.5 wins, which is about a 10-win drop from their total in the past two full seasons. Should you place money on the A’s taking an even longer fall? Let’s take a look at the best betting option for the Athletics’ win total line on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Oakland Athletics Over 86.5 wins (-106)

Not only did the A’s win 97 games in 2018 and 2019, they were on a 97-win pace last year. And that was with Matt Chapman, Matt Olson and Ramon Laureano all turning in relatively disappointing results at the plate. Liam Hendriks was a big loss for the bullpen, but Trevor Rosenthal is a decent replacement, and he’s backed up by Jake Diekman and Sergio Romo. Oakland’s rotation may have some growing pains, but any issues there can be covered up by this above-average offense and that stellar bullpen often enough for the A’s to attain 90 wins or more.
