Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell announced on Saturday that star outfielder Christian Yelich will be heading to the injured list, per Will Sammon of The Athletic. Yelich has not played since April 11 because of a back injury.

On Thursday, Counsell told reporters that Yelich was making progress and beginning baseball activities, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The 29-year-old outfielder is hitting .333/.459/.367 with zero home runs and an RBI this season.

The Brewers have yet to make a corresponding move, but this is not good news as they have dealt with their fair share of injuries this season. Along with Yelich, Lorenzo Cain is on the 10-day injured list with a strained left quad. Cain was dealing with his injury during Spring Training. Milwaukee will likely have Jackie Bradley hold things down in center field, with Avisail Garcia in right field, and multiple players that could fill in at left field.
